we want to share a few things you should know when growing out your hair.
1. Come in every 8-12 weeks for a trim or dusting.
This will help keep your hair strong and healthy during the process. Having a style to work with and that you can manage can make growing out your hair much easier.
2. Hair growth comes from the inside.
We all see the ads and commericals about what can make your hair grow faster. Proper nutrients and vitamins, drinking plenty of water, getting plenty of rest and also exercising are a few things you can do to stay healthy and keep that hair growing strong and healthy. Supplements, such as biotin, are an option to help speed up the process.
3. Happy scalp.
Stimulating the scalp can help increase blood flow and can help in speeding up the growth process. Make sure you are cleaning your scalp properly and using products that make your scalp happy. Tea tree, for example, is an excellent source for dry scalp.
4. Put down the hot tools when you can.
Try shampooing and night and allowing your hair to air dry instead of speadily blasting it with too much heat. Pinterest offers many alternatives to a curling iron such as braiding your hair to let it air dry and come out with a beautiful natural wave.
5. Hair treatments.
These are very important to keep that hair healthy in the process. You can visit your favorite salon (see you soon!) where we can do protein treatments, gloss sealers, and reconstructers just to name a few. We are also happy to help you keep up the treating your hair right at home. Things like coconut oil, eggs, mayo and even beer can be beneficial for shine and strength.
6. Be gentle with your strands.
When you hair is wet it is very fragile. If you go yanking through it like you are fighting an animal your hair won't last long. Also after a shower be gentle with the towel. No need to rub the wet fragile hair into a big mess. Blot, blot, blot. And these buns piled up on the top of your head are doing you no favors. They tangle and you end up tearing them out. Lastly please please don't put your hair in a tight ponytail wet. Your hair expands when it's wet, then you put in a pony, then it begins drying but it cant move because it's in a rubber band, so it just breaks off.
These are just a few things. We will continue adding more so Check back. And good luck on your hair growing journey!
